Can 15 Minutes Matter?
RISE UP WARRIOR and Praise the Lord for a brand new week!
“This is the day the Lord has made; let’s rejoice and be glad in it.”
-Psalm 118:24
This past week, I heard a coach asking his players, “Can 15 minutes matter?” Moving along in my day, these words pondered in my mind, transforming the perspective I had on time. You see, it takes a second for our spirit to quicken, a second to fall to our knees and realize our need for God, a second to discern right from wrong, and a second to make a choice that will impact our lives for the better or worse. If each one of these life changing occurrences happen in a single second, imagine what would happen if we were intentional with 15 minutes throughout our day!
It’s time to RISE UP WARRIOR, because if one second matters, 15 minutes can create a positive impact in a world that so desperately needs God! Now, I’m no stranger to a hustle and bustle kind of day, as a matter of fact, I’ve come to know this kind of day well. I also know that while being productive is important, pausing is equally important. Let’s RISE UP WARRIOR and leave 15 minute increments open in our “to-do lists” to seal our prayers in heaven, to pray over those who have no one praying over them, to start a conversation with that one person who is always sitting alone, to lend a helping hand, and to introduce someone new to the Gospel of Jesus Christ! If we take 15 minutes before, during, or at the end of our day and give them to the Lord, He will use them for great impact! You might see this impact grow in front of you like the beanstalk Jack climbed, or you might see it in a different form, a spiritual form, as a seed planted in the heart of someone beginning their walk with the Lord. The point of 15 minutes is to awaken our soul to the power of the Holy Spirit at work as we plant seeds and leave the rest to our Gardner, God! In Colossians 4:5-6 Paul encourages followers of Christ to make the most of every opportunity, to speak, and live in a way that invites others to know Jesus Christ! Let’s lean into this verse and learn from Paul, so we are equipped when moments arise to lead others towards Christ!
“Act wisely toward outsiders, making the most of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you should answer each person.”
-Colossians 4:5-6
So, can 15 minutes matter? I think YES! One second of awareness, spiritual quickening, and opportunity can lead to a 15 minute conversation, act of kindness, and life changing moment that bridges the gap of heartbroken to healed, bondage to freedom, lost to saved, hurt to whole, and lost to found in the Lord!
So, here are a few ways we can RISE UP WARRIOR and make 15 minutes matter in this moment, tomorrow, and this week:
Wake up early and pray over men, women, and children over the world who have no one praying over them
Take 15 minutes to lend a helping hand to your neighbor
Take 15 minutes and start a conversation with that one person that’s been on your heart
Leave 15 minute increments open in your schedule to obey the voice of the Lord calling you to RISE UP in boldness and ___
Create your own!
I pray that the Lord would wash over your soul this week. I pray for Heavenly revelation, for spiritual awakening, for wisdom and discernment, for boldness to RISE UP when the Lord calls to you to move with impact. I pray that God shine upon you and be gracious to you, for your life is purposeful and created for a legacy of impact. Never forget warrior, that “15 minutes” isn’t meant for your glorification, achievement, or praise, but the life changing revelation of the Holy Spirit at work in a world that desperately needs Gods truth, healing, and presence! So, RISE UP WARRIOR and make the next 15 minutes matter!
